It is weekend time for me!!  Weekends are not always about Saturday and Sunday.  Finished my last day of work.  Came home and ate.  Promptly fell asleep for a full 10 hours.

I am awake now and shaking the last bits of sleep off me and fortifying my body with some food and caffeine.  Its 57 deg with a high of 70 expected.  Definately ride time.  I need to find some chaps.  Something I never bothered with in Florida, but now that I am in NC it has become apparent that I will need some.

Even though I have been working with computers since they and myself were young, I have never really been one to shop on the internet.  I am, however, using the internet to find a few shops in the area.  well really in neighboring areas as I want to combine the search with riding.

So, if anyone can suggest anyplace in the NC area for leathers, let me know.  Having never owned chaps before, I want to do some searching and try on a few(maybe hundred hehe..).  I can afford to bundle up for a while.  Its just easier to remove chaps if you stop somewhere for a while than it is to remove longjohns and other layers that might go under jeans.

So wish me luck.  Offer a suggestion.  Whatever suits your style.  Until then, I will be the guy on the NC roads that looks like the StayPuff Marshmallow Man riding a motorcycle.

I am familiar with the Webb Road Flea market.  If I don't find anything else, I may have to arrange for a few hours off during their weekend hours.  But I figure the hunt will be enough fun to forestall that.  It really isn't too cold unless I try to leave at the crack of dawn.

Jafrum is right here in Charlotte.  I have been meaning to ride by their address.  I don't think they have a retail shop though.

I have been considering a loooong roadtrip to Florida.  There is a flea market that is the largest in Florida.  It is only on Mondays.  It is also near the state veterans cemetary there.  My dad is buried there and I haven't visited his grave since the funeral.  I may save that trip until Daytona time and I think I will need chaps before then.

We bought one of my leather jackets at Jamin' Leather in Myrtle Beach - right off 501, and purchased my chaps from Jafrum Leather (http://www.jafrum.com/). Not sure if you're interested in purchasing anything over the internet but they have great deals on chaps. There are some vendors at Cooks Flea Market in Winston-Salem as well. I'm not sure they're open anytime but the weekends though. I haven't lived up in that area in many moons so I'm sure there are tons more places I don't know about!

Wherever you head to have a safe and enjoyable journey! Good luck finding what you need!

Webb Road Flea Market....but not sure if they are open on the week days.

Straight up 85 north toward Salisbury, take off on Webb Road..turn right and the market is right there, but not sure if the leather shops are open during the week days, about 4 different dealers inside.
