Like I said before, I have a 2004 Wide-Glide and a 1997 Wide-Glide. I LIKE the 2004, but I LOVE my '97. The '04 is Heritage Teal and Silver and chrome, chrome, chrome...while the '97 has a custom paint job of Aqua and Diamond Frost and chrome that mere discription will not do justice. And to see her in the sunshine is to see fire and ice all rolled up into one!
Past bikes
Oddly enough, when I was growing up, my dad didn't want me to have a bicycle because he was afraid a car would hit me on the street, but he let me have dirt bikes because those were, as he put it "Between you and God and your commen sense." My first bike was a Honda Z50A also known as "a monkey bike". And Daddy was right. When I was 23 I got a bicycle and got hit by a stolen truck doing 65mph. I won't be on the streets again without a motor!
Modifications
The only modifications the bikes have had have been like the song says.."Her favorite color is chrome!" unless you count the paint job on my '97 since it is customized and I have to admit...the Diamond Frost is some kinda beautiful. (My mother says I take after my grandmother and have always had an eye for slightly gaudy/glitzy things...LOL) And I love having loud pipes...I want to be heard when I come up to intersections and over people's radios/sterios that are blasting away.Gimme Screamin Eagles! My latest addition has been the highway bars and pegs, speakers and a waterproof mount for my iPod on the 2004. A friend gave me a Viberider for my seat, but I haven't put it on yet! LOL
I don't think anyone should do anything unless they are passionate about it...no matter what it is, which is probably why I go so gung-ho when I do things, from scuba, hunting and shooting guns to riding bikes. Some things you just can't get enough of. My husband and I enjoy going riding, just the two of us, but we are also members of The Red Knights, Louisiana Chapter 1, and going riding with them. We ride locally and longer rides, though I think I probably enjoy the longer rides more than he does.
Movies
My favorite movies would have to be Legends Of The Fall, Braveheart, Gladiator, Giant, What Dreams May Come, Somewhere In Time, Last Of The Mohicans, Cleopatra, Schindler's List, Highlander, old war movies, John Wayne movies, old thrillers and dramas, though I seem to be drawn to epics.
Music
Oh yeah!!! Give it to me! I love music in just about every form that there is, but I just can't find any music in Rap. I am also not too much into Gospel music. It isn't that I object to the subject matter because I don't, I just can't find the rhythm in most of it. I find myself drawn to music to fit my moods, but usually it is Sarah McLachlin, Eric Clapton, Dr. John, AC/DC, Irish Music, Classical, Cajun, Zydeco, Enya, and instrumentals at times. I played the clarinet in band when I was growing up, and later played drums and am currently learning bagpipes.
Hobbies
Well aside from the obvious HARLEYS!!!!!!!! We have 2 Pembroke Welsh Corgis that have our hearts, and 2 grandsons, 1 granddaughter (does it say anything that I put the puppies first in this list???? Fraudian?) anyway, Scuba diving, oil painting and art, hunting, firearms, reading, traveling, and although I am not very good at it...I like writing and photography...and the Victorian house we live in here in the Irish Channel (naturally...where else would an Irish Mermaid live???)
Just wanted to drop by to say what's up. I've been really busy with work and the holidays lately, but I'm trying to check out the site more often now. Hope you're doing well. Later.
