Well I finally did it... and not on accident either.  I had to ride in the rain.  One vehicle in the shop and the other being used and I had to get to work... ride to work, not a problem... puffy clouds, slight breeze.  At 9 PM the rain came in and I leave work at 11.  I came prepared... leather, 1/2 chaps and long gloves.  Tried RainX on the face shield (didn't work worth $#!*).  Ok ready to go... Not raining much when I started.  Streets wet, but no standing water.  Ok I can do this.  Easy on the corners and turns.  Now hit the freeway.  Late - not much traffic.  Then comes the big trucks.  I'm going just a bit faster (not much) than they are, but man do they throw out a bunch of water!  Then the closer I get to home the harder it rains.  Total of 25 miles and no real problems.  I don't think I would try to purposely ride in the rain, but now I know I CAN.

I miss the riding!!  The reason I'm not riding as much out weights it a bit.  We are building our new home!!  It is looking like a real house now.  Not just holes and sticks. (pictures are at www.towstrap.com and click on new house pics)  The only thing is, it is going to take us all summer.  I do get to ride to and from work (25 miles each way) but that's slab & city riding.  I am hankering for some twisties!!  Going to have to play hooky soon and just hit the foothills... I think I need a Feather River Canyon fix!!  Sigh... Maybe next weekend, I have to work this weekend.

Ah finally!!  I got to ride!  We have been working on our house and with ailing MIL, DH and I haven't had a chance to put the kickstands up and go... We met up with folks for breakfast (our riding club) and then we all had different things we needed to do, so the group split up.  DH and I took the LONG way home... almost got rained on, but it sure was worth it.  Sigh... today was a good day!

We accually did it!! Ok I will back up a bit here... on Friday, heading up to Reno for the night spotted a trailer with a 'For Sale' sign in the window... called the number asked 'How Much' he said $$$. Cool! It's just what we have been looking for, but we are on our way up to Reno can we see it on Monday... We he was putting over at Sierra College to sell and at the price he was asking, it would have been GONE! So got DH and we went to go see it... Yep we bought it! It has a fold out bed like a tent trailer in the very front (King size it looks like) it has a small toilet/shower room, small sink, two burner stove, frig w/freezer, A/C and a heater. It also has a flat bed area on the back for our two bikes!! That area has a tent/screen that can be put up so that there would be another 'room'. It's not as big as we were looking at but it can be pulled by a 1/4 ton truck. And the price we couldn't pass up. Such a nice couple that we bought it from too! Boy did they take great care of it. I am really looking forward to trying it out... Hey do you know any one that wants to buy a tent trailer??

Looking through the current moods thingy I saw 'grateful'... so thought that would be a good place to start... what am I greatful for... I'm still breathing, always a good thing. I have a wonderful husband, and a daughter that is beginning to grow into a wonderful person. I have a job, a roof over my head and food in my belly and clothes on my back. That's mostly the material things. I have a couple friends that I feel that if I REALLY needed something would come through for me. I have two sisters that I have been growing closer to. Thank you Dad!! Not the way I would have chosen to get close to them, but thank you. There are so many ways things could be 'worse' for me. I try not to think about all the things I don't have because then it's hard to be greatful for the things I do have. The more I think about it, I really like my life. Sure I could do with loosing 150+ lbs. Have a housekeeper, gardener, etc., but I have the things that are important... family! Ok... well I typed and posted something and that was my goal... had no idea what to type, so just typed. Wow... just looked over and the page said I had posted 71 so far... OMG... it will probably be fun to look back sometime and read what I have typed... but not tonight... Night all...

Ok... cross posting from one blog to another... It's not a 'ride report' but hey, it's my page and I don't care...here it is...

Ok - time for a little catch up - it's been a while since I have posted a blog and I will probably miss a bit - but I've been busy living instead of typing. The 4WD thingy went off well... but before we did that we were able to clear the fence posts and build the slab for the propane tank and water tank... I felt very accomplished at that time. We had a motorhome for the 'thingy' and boy is that nice!! I am spoiled!! Cleaned and emptied it in one day and still haven't finished cleaning the house from just dumping the stuff out. Oh well... then work all last week... SSDD there. 12X12 room and BORING!! Then BIG order for shims - Hey honey I'll help - nope you have a BOD meeting - shit!! So for this weekend I got to sit in a meeting... yuk! Just let me do the report crap and don't make me listen to meetings!! Oh well, comes with the report crap. Now I'm home, have to work tomorrow. So much stuff that NEEDS to get done and I have NO energy, or gumpsion... but what else is new. So now you are all caught up in what is happening to me... fun huh... bye for now...

Ack!! It's almost 12 and I'm still awake!! To top it off I'm typing on the computer... silly me... but I'm excited!! DH and I are going up to our yearly 4WD 'thingy' and we rented a motorhome this year. It is going to be so nice... I don't know if I will want to go back to the tent trailer The jeep is having problems with the power steering, that is the fly in the ointment... we will be getting a late start tomorrow. Oh Well... once we are out to town we won't be back until next week!! Well I need to tie things up here (and cut and paste to the other blogs I do) So good night all and I will give a brief 'ride' report when we get back...

Well here I am... this is like the third place that I have to type a blog. That is just too many... I can't keep up with them... I have to figure out which one I want to keep and just go with one (maybe two - cut and paste is great!!). So that is all for now... what to see how this one is, and if I can do 'private' blogs or not. Mmmm nope doesn't look like it on this page... It's nice to be able to do private typings, that way I can whine and rant and only I know
