Please note that some of the pictures are not working as of yet. I have to host them on my photobucket. I know what pictures I want were so please be aware that this log is still under construction!

Unless otherwise noted pictures are by Sunny.

A newbie's take on an overnight

Do's and Don'ts

Don't believe ANY meterologist when he says light rain, you will have a down poor. Also the same goes when he says Slightly breezy. That is all a load of crap!

Do's no matter what the meterologist says it is a good idea to have warm and rain gear ready at hand.

Don't turn down a gift jacket offered by an experienced rider.

Do take it with a smile and say "You are a life saver I owe you one big time!"

Don't go on and adventure ride with Tyler unless you are fully prepared for an adventures because folks these are really truely adventures.

Do go on one. You have not lived until you have riden behind that big pig of hers as she takes you into the unknown. It is the best experience ever.

Don't scoff at the following pictures and write up.

Do enjoy it... :)

So that everyone knows this ride was put on by Tyler, president of Dangerous Curves, a Womens Motorcycle Group to which I am a member and happily so. You can veiw their websit here (Yes shameless plug) http://www.dangerouscurves.org/

Moving on to the adventure!

My riding weekend actually started on Friday April 13th, 2007. The meet spot for the big ride was in Fremont and I did not feel like waking up way to early to ride over so Cara kindly opened up her abode for me to stay the night. Prepared this time with a Cortech Tail bag full of hopes and dreams I head off to work. Wearing my leathers I had to change but that was no big deal. Changed to work clothes then back again as the day ended. I met up with Cara and Scott then headed to dinner. Sushi. I don't think I will ever have a craving for this but as long as they have cooked chicken I am good. Dinner was fun, I had a great time chatting with Cara and Scott. We even put in a call to our fearless leader Tyler.
Tyler is a great woman and a great leader. She was concerned right off the bat, not about the sushi but me. While talking to Cara she was interested in my riding and weather or not my skills would be up to par. I was not offended by this. On the contrary I was greatly appreciative of this gesture as I consider myself a newbie to riding. Cara believed in me which helped a lot too. Apparently I give myself less credit than I should. That though keeps me grounded and I will, dispite the others, still learn. It warmed me that these two great women believed in me and that I could do this. That is a great feeling to start a ride with. And thats how it went.

Ride started at 9am in the morning 8 if you wanted to chat while drinking coffee.. And of course it was at a starbucks!

Some of the faithful crew was already there. Our starting crew is twelve people.
From left to right
Donna, Scott 1, Sue, Scott 2, Cara, Sunny, Bill 1, CC, Nat, Real, and Bill 2. Tyler is taking the picture.

As we took out of the parkinglot it did start to sprinkle but it wasn't that bad. We took Niles Canyon out of the valley and onto our adventure!

From Fremont we went Nilse Canyon to 84 East took a Rt on S. Livermore. From there we went on Tesla/Corral Hollow to Tracy Blvd. Making a left there we headed to Hw 4 where we went right then on hw 5 to hw 4 again. This wasn't to bad dispite the sprinkles. From there we hit 99 north for a few miles until we got to the Waterloo exit where we stopped for gas and lunch!

The roads were beautiful at this point I believed the Meterologist in the light showers. It was great until it started getting to be not so light. Keep in mind that we are on the road. Tyke and I have never ridden in the rain before and I am in leathers! I am warm but getting wet!

We pull into Stocton for Lunch. There we meet up with 3 other riders, Lisa, Jan, Debra. Lisa and Jan are riding this beautiful Boluvard! That is one sweet bike!

Lunch goes off without a hitch, as far as I know no one was upset at the food or service. The rain though. The rain seemed to have had a better idea of growth. It was POURING down rain in the middle of lunch. We hoped it would ease up by time we were done but no luck.

So there I was... No rain gear. Just leathers. Tyler asked if I was going to be okay and I cheerfully said yeah! no problem! Idiot. That must have been a very blond moment because it was pretty stupid.

Either way we headed out on the rest of our journey. Everyone else had geared up for the ride in their rain wear. I am happy to report that I neither went down, died of hypothermia, or even caught a cold. No. Our esteemed leader, that rocks, saw me shivering in my leathers and pulled the whole group over just to check on me!! That was the best thing ever! I admitted now, smartly, that I was cold and by this time my skin was getting a little damp. Luckly there are heros among us! Tyler had an extra jacket in her bags and Scott 1 had a pair of rain slicker pants! I was a bit miss matched but definatly happier after this!

After lunch I kind of lost track of the roads I was more intent on keeping upright and dry. I heard that we didn't do all of the roads on the route but I am not sure which we did and which we didn't.

The ride went smoothly for me after that. I am at this point happy to report that no one crashed, broke down, or otherwise came down with hypothermia or a cold. We all made it safely to Murphys. The only disapointments were that some of the roads we were on would have been sooo much better in the sun. So much more fun. That was the only saddening part.

It was a great experience riding in the rain. I learned from it and was able to keep control of the bike. Tyke did nothing that I didn't expect her to do.

We rolled into Murphys about 2:30pm soaking wet but with high spirits

On to the wine tasting! So I don't have to keep interupting the flow of pictures I thought I would say here that I still haven't found a wine that I like. There was some good ones but I don't think that wine is for me.

Dinner wasn't until 7:30pm that night and everything started to close around 5:30pm which would leave us two hours before we could get food. So Cara, Scott and I decided to try and find something to eat. Nothing was open but the Candy store... You know what they say about kids in the candy store right??? They are really sweet! :D

After the tasting the group kind of split up. Those that wanted to rest a little bit before dinner and those that wanted to hang out. I went to rest. One of the ladies got a room in the hotel that had access to the balcony and from there you could see...

Dinner! Dinner was held at Grounds. It was good food but more L.A. night life style food than I am used to. Certainly not a big menu or portions. I could have used more food but the company was great!

4-1-07 Half Moon Bay
DATE: 20 Apr 2007, 11:07 am / MOOD: Other

I know I haven't posted up a ride log in a while but that is only because I have been really busy with life and riding! Better that then nothing!

Moving on though I have had many adventures that I do hope to post up so stay tuned!

This trip is dedicated to a great gal I am really really really glad I met! She has opened up her world to me and I am so glad I stepped inside. My friend Cara and her family (Scott and for safety purposes her son will be named Son) have been so wonderful to me it has been so great! So this adventure Cara is going to visit with her Dad who lives in Half Moon Bay. His property is quiet awesome it is a beautiful house I can see why he has kept it. He is a great guy and I can see where Cara gets it.

Though we all did not ride all day our day started out with a quick trip to breakfast!

On the way to breakfast Scott & Son

Ahh thats better

Me shamelessly using their hard work to get a artsy shot (there are a few more but this one is my favorite)

Pause- Here I will note that we were by no means by ourselves on the beach there were plenty of other people enjoying the sand. Also though we were not alone in the water either (not that we were crazy enough to go in!) thar be whales a fin out thar!!! There was! It was totaly cool! See them come up and get a fresh gulp of air and go back down! Totaly awesome! I was not quick enough to get pictures of this event though by time I got my camera pointed at them they were gone. I wish I had a nice long distance zoom lense though so I could have tried better. :)

Playing on the beach

Yes proof we are in half moon bay read the shirt!

Scott giving us his Otter impresson

Pause - I will state here that I did ride down to the beach. I had in my bag a swimsuit which I didn't end up wearing at all, a pair of pants and that was it. On me I had my leather pants, tee shirt, and leather jacket. Leather and Sea water we figured wouldn't get along. Thats okay I got my pants and tee shirt but forgetting that here the beaches are COLD and not HOT as they should be... I needed a sweat shirt or jacket. Cara had one handy. Now for those of you that know me I hate pink! Not that others don't look nice in it but as a personal choice I would not choose. Now here is my devotion. This woman has gotten me into pink TWICE folks! Not once, but twice.. Evidence of my displeasure in this.. *had to be faked as I was happy to have a jacket*

Nothing like riding boots in the sand! (Didn't say I brought shoes now did I!)

Beach shots - just random things that turned out cool

If you couldn't tell I liked setting my camera near the sand and taking a picture towards the ocean the effect is pretty cool I think.

Pretty flowers-

Watch out! I am taken pictures here! EEEEE!! In coming!

Some new gear (j/k)

Beautiful flowers that Cara bought for me to thank me for hanging out. Which really was no big deal at all because they are a blast!

Ending ODO- That isn't really readable... Sorry

Stay tuned for my trip to Murphy California!

3-31-07 SMR
DATE: 04 Apr 2007, 11:36 pm / MOOD: Happy

Finially made it out to an SMR (Saturday Morning Ride). I must say it was totally awesome! Thanks to Gisele I was able to make some new friends and ride some new roads!

Meeting up at STP (Skywood Trading Post) at 10:30am was a piece of cake!

This time out had a big turn out and so the groups were originally two, with about 5-7 people in the spirted group and the rest with the slower mellower group. The spirited group went off and did some other roads while the other group took off heading down 84 to Pescadero. It was decided at Pescadero that the group was to big so it was divided again and those two groups went different routes! So we all ended up going different ways but ended up at the same place for lunch. I stayed with the slower group and had a blast! We went from Pescadero to Cloverdale and from there we went down one to Swanson. Swanson isn't that great of a road, kind of reminded me of a milder Tunitas creek. Lots of holes. Anyway Swanson sweeps around and meets back up with one. From there we went to Davenport and had a great lunch. Having to take off from there to get back into town cut our lunch a little short and our group got cut down to four people. Which was just right. We did some roads that I don't remember all of them but I know we did a lot of grades and ended up on 236 then the back part of 9. Or at least what I consider the back part of nine.. as it is on the other side of four corners. All and all it was a great great ride!

I took these two pictures at the break at Pescadero and Cloverdale

And I put them together

Hehe that turned out pretty cool.

In no particular order

Craig- (Socks23)

Some funny trees at one and cloverdale

I really like how this turned out though I don't know who it is that is behind me, I forgot his name (Sorry! And you were so nice to me! :(  )

Apparently something caught his eye

And that concludes my photos!

3-24-07 Cousin's Wedding
DATE: 04 Apr 2007, 10:44 pm / MOOD: Happy

NOT MOTO RELATED

Took a break from riding. Though in truth I really wanted to ride. The ride would have been to long and I certainly wouldn't have had enough room on Tyke with two passengers. Also a good thing considering what happend on the way down.

Soooo in Sylver we go! I have a silver honda civic that is my normal vehicle. So in the car is my mom and dad and myself. We are well on our way to Los Angeles, more directly San Bernadino. We pull over a few times for potty and food. The scary part, and one of the reasons I am glad I didn't ride is... We were going down highway five right before Kettleman. I see this big rig in the right hand lane and one of the rear driver side tires (the one closes to the left hand lane) had blown out. The second one in was looking ready to blow too!! So I had a choice. Sit back and wait for it to blow, possibly jacknifing the truck and crushing me and mine, or try and pass to get a head. I oppted for the later only to have it explode just as we are passing!! OMG!! I was sooo scared! Luckly I only jerked my car off to the side so I was on the really bumpy part as things were still flying at my car. Btw I do scream like a girl, just wanted to add that. Anyway. Things calm down a bit. car is still moving, no flats on my part but the truck is still moving! Now with both driver side tires out! Scary!! So I push my gas and my mom rolls down her window, both of us thinking this guy is insane yet perhaps he doesn't realize he blew a tire... Well he did but he still wasn't pulling over. Anyway so to check the damage to my car we pull off in Kettleman, get gas, check air pressure, change our pants... No visable damage, tires are good and pants still clean (thank you for small favors!) But man was I awake after that!

Longer story short we made it alive and well about 10pm that night after starting at 2pm. Next day. The wedding!

I got asked to help set up the reception, which is an afternoon tea. I have no problems with this as the house was only like three minutes from the church. Go there setup and then go back to the house until called upon to help again. This time we need to arrange flowers! And here comes some of the pictures folks! My Aunt (not the mother of the bride), is a master gardener she is just awesome so she was arranging the flowers and needed help! Well she got it in the form of me, my niece, a cousin and herself... I am not pictured as I am the one taking the pictures

Some of the arrangements on the table

Head table-

The Cake -

These were hiding behind the brides chair.. Shhhh

Classic Wedding moments -

And with that cutie picture I leave you.. :) Had a great time, Sorry no pictures of me I am not sure anyone captured the ninja photographer! I did look damn hot though!

3-4-07 Ride - Napa
DATE: 06 Mar 2007, 7:12 pm / MOOD: Other

The day was great so we just had to get out there and make some trouble!!

So it was decided to head out to Napa! Now I am trying a few things and please note that when I did them it was upon straight open road with minimal traffic behind or to the side of me... :D

Da group! (Picture by Russ)
Russ and Kibble (who elected to stay home), me, Cara and her hubby Scott.

Pictured also above is Russ, Moto Guzzi, Cara's Zx and Scotts Beemer, Tyke was being shy!

There she is! (picture by Cara)

Cara and I (pciture by Scott)

Lets do this! So we head out on 680 taking the Benician bridge and head out and away! Needless to say there are some boring slabs getting out there. Thats alright though because the end was worth it!

Da group on the road (see something new but don't ask me to do it like John!

I got a lot of the shots like that
I was in the back after all!

Some Sceenery

Hey! No leaving us behind!

Caught up! Gotcha Cara!

Really caught up this time Cara

Scott too! Russ was probably trying to figure out what we were doing, see him look in the mirror (he has the orange helmet)

The area out in Napa is so beautiful. It was quiet really, not a lot of wind, and the sun was just right.

Left behind again!

Had to stop for some lunch for the bikes, snaped one of Cara and Russ, I think they were talking about lunch for us. :)

YEP! LUNCH!

Cara's Milkshake (Picture by Scott)

Me Sammy!

Please note the festive pears

Egahds! Scott what happened to your head!

I had learned something from John (moto-ryder) about taking one's picture. So I did it with Cara's camera

She thought that was great and so did angled shots of the others..

Russ (picture by Cara)

Scott (picture by Cara)

Back on the road again!

These next shots turned out really well, surprisingly, same method as earlier, pull out camera quickly, click, and put back in my pocket. Needless to say I had a lot of pictures of my pocket. I won't bore you with those.. But these I am proud of.

Cara and a vinyard

Same vinyard without Cara, it must be lonely!

This is me, trying to get a shot of Cara behind me

didn't work but I still like it!

Behind again!

Tootling along

Hi Scott! Fancy meeting you here!

Ooh now at this light-

It was really funny. Cara and I were behind the guys and this van pulls up behind us, not sure if Cara noticed them or not, but, they got my attention and all the guys in the van, there were about four of them. Were staring at Cara and me! One of them had a camera!! I just waved and laughed... Then the light turned green! Darn didn't get any numbers! Shoot! I knew I forgot something!

Me trying to take a picture of something I don't remember what it was or when I took it..

Blue skys still! Don't ask me what time it was because I didn't look!

I got in really late because after the ride we went to the movies and saw Wild Hogs! Great movie btw!

So ending Odo

Look at em grow!

3-3-07 Solo Ride
DATE: 05 Mar 2007, 12:31 pm / MOOD: Happy

Decided the day was to nice to sit inside or run errands in my car. So Tyke and I got geared up and road out! We did have to stop for some errands and so I took care of those first. I did have an engagement later in the evening so we only had a few hours. Quiet alright with us! We are always willing to find trouble in so short of time!

On the trek through town I decided it would be nice, after the previous week of rain, to go check out some old spots. Remember back in the not so distant past of my search for a park... Sanborn park. I found the park on my next try. Everything was not green then but... Now, now is a different story...

As you make a left from Highway Nine onto Sanborn to the left there is this big rock. We couldn't resist!

We couldn't reist all the great photo stops along this road! No one was on it. I have never seen a motorcycle on it, a few cars yes but no MCs!

Tyke and a fallen log. "As always we thank the trees for giving us the air we breath, the shade they offer, ride on big log!"

Dark! Hang on Tyke!

Ahhh much better! Walden West Center is a place I have spent a lot of time volenteering as a Cabin Leader or a Summer camp leader. It was fun. They are doing a bit of remodling up top so I couldn't get up there.

So we were riding a long, not to far really and saw these weird things...

I know what they are and where they were and the reason they are painted. They are the Walden West Bannana slugs. If you look closely you can see an intini sticking up!

They were in this meadow

Continuing on, and yes this is still part of Sanborn Road, we find ourselves at the pond!

Moved down to the hostel and saw this neat little bench in the bushes and couldn't resist...

Join us next time when Sunny and Tyke take on Napa!

Sunny Geared up for dirt!
DATE: 26 Feb 2007, 10:04 am / MOOD: Other

Alright so it wasn't on any of the trails, I didn't go anywhere someone couldn't go in a car so the 'trail' was very nice to me. It was dirt though!

Geared up - Just the helmet and gloves, I had on good hiking boots. As we weren't going on any real trails so this would do. Though note to self, goggles and glasses (which are a must as I am blind without them or my contacts) don't really get along very well.

On the bike and ready to go! Lead the way! The lady standing next to me actually owns the gear and the bike. It is a Honda 230 so a little less power than Tyke. It was very cool of her to let me borrow her gear and bike, but then again I don't think she was going to let me get away with not..

2-24-07 Sunny Gets Dirty!
DATE: 25 Feb 2007, 1:39 pm / MOOD: Happy

Well on Feb. 24th 2007 it was decided that the newbies for SBR (South Bay Riders) needed to get dirty! The whole thing was organized by some great people and I appreciate them letting me tag along! I went to spectate and socialize meet some people that I have chatted with online and the whole deal, all in all I was in for a good time!

The place of dirty choice, Hollister Hills. HH is a State Vehicular Recreation Area, mouth full huh? So it does cost some money to park but the rest is play! Yes folks this is a dirty ride for dirt bikers! And yes Sunny gave it a try!

Due to the nature of this day Tyke opted to stay home and catch up on some rest time, after the last few weekends of excitement I wasn't going to argue!

Started my day early meeting up with Pablo, a fellow SBRer. I didn't know where this place was or what to expect but Pablo made it easy and fun! He drove, showed me the sights, and got us there and back safely! I wasn't quiet sure what to expect having never been to a park such as this. I have only seen pictures. I must say the area is beautiful! I couldn't capture all of it in my photos. We got in kind of early but there were people already gearing up to go out and play! 120 riders and crew showed up to play today! What a fantastic number of folks!

We based our operation out of Radio Hill, if you haven't been to HH before it is kind of in the center of the park, accesable to cars and trucks anyway. It was a great place to get some good shots of the place.

I didn't have a bike or equipment to play so I put myself to work helping out the ground crew, helping the riders check in, helping with lunch. It really wasn't hard at all! After lunch though I went for mini dirt bike adventure. (Someone got pictures of me getting ready and going, John I think, but I haven't seen them yet! Once I do I will post them). I must say it was fun, adventuresome but I don't think I will be running out to buy a dirt bike or gear just yet. Maybe next year. I want Tyke and I to adventure more before I take up another expensive hobby! :)

The day went smoothly and it was a great time.  I did meet a lot of people and put a lot of faces to names! That in itself was worth it!

So on with the photos!

Clear warnings posted everywhere

This neat dead tree

The tree actually is a home to these birds sorry I couldn't get a better shot of them.

Gisele trying out a new ride-

There are a lot of pictures where I don't know who is in them, geared up everyone practically looks the same! Sorry! I stayed at the 'base' area so I don't have trail shots.

I know Joe is in the Flyers Jersy..

Jimmy! (in the jacket facing sidways)

Pablo my escort ready to ride!

Great meetings of minds

Okay ready to go!

Our esteemed organizer organizing

More waiting to go, getting in groups was a hard task as people were all over the place at first. All and all everyone got where they needed to go!

Last minute tip - "No you are not going to die! Your going to get dirty!"

Jimmy the rescue man! There were a few bikes that were having some issues and Super Jimmy swooped into action!

Next to Radio Hill is a mini track so that the smaller bikes and folks could get some riding in! There were these two little girls that were sharing this cute little pink ATV I just had to get a few pictures!

The cute little quad-

One young man was having so much trouble with his bike. I do hope he got to ride a little today but here is Super Jimmy to the rescue again!

One scary trail! Going up!?

A valley shot

The trail to no where... Not really but it is steep!

Super Jimmy rides again!

After the riders got off on their first journey the Ground Crew took a breather...

Geoff (sorry I called you Jeff!), Jimmy, and Mike. What did you do now  Geoff?

Gisele, Chris H, Geoff, Jimmy, and Mike, the only one I missed was Jimmy's wife, she went off to do something.

Cute little wind cycle

Ground Crew Mascot Daisy. (Owned by Jimmy and Chris)

Jimmy, again to the rescue! I just think he really wanted to be on the bike!

People coming back in a bit early

Random shot that I thought was cool

Somebody riding, Sunny working on paning a shot..

Nice skyline

Lunch, time to get started!

Who said plalying with fire was bad?

Mahito taking pictures

Dirty girl!

Even the little ones came out to play! Check out his bike! I gotta get me a set of those!

Another shot of the skyline

Daisy didn't like me this time around but she is still a great dog!

Look another dirty girl!

Just chilling

I think I need to get me a super camera if I want to get shots of birds like these, it flew away when I tried to get closer...

Someone just getting back & Joe

Another set of trails I didn't see before

It started to get late and so it was time to pack up!

Pablo's dirty bike!

Warning signs, everywhere

Chris (TrackMonkey) without any gear on!! Gasp there is a man under those leathers, pads, and or jersey's!!

Very tired Joe

It was a really great day!! That is the end of the dirty day. Though stay tuned for Pablo's clean adventure!

~*~*~*~

Pablo's Clean Adventure

Well with the man being dirty, the bike being dirty, and certainly dirty gear it was time to clean up! The man wasn't to hard to clean up, a bit of wet cloth and easily remedied. Now if you remember above about the dirty bike, that was not going to come off easy. So it was off to the car wash!!

Pablo had yet to experience one of these great self serve carwashes before. Good thing I was along to explain how to put quarters into a machine and make sure it was on rinse and not wax!

The bike didn't like the idea of being to clean, afterall it is a dirt bike! So it got back at Pablo and made him dirty all over again!

Pablo really got into getting the bike clean

Squeeze and spray!

In the end though, the bike and truck were clean and Pablo, well Pablo was dirty again.

Two ladies pulled in with their bikes as well. They must be tired as they were waving the whole way over!

Hehe.

2-4-07 Delta Ride
DATE: 04 Feb 2007, 9:48 pm / MOOD: Tired

It was a great day for a ride. The morning was certainly colder than the rest of the day! I do have pictures but I am going to post those seperate as my route takes me very far! Very very far!

My day started at 5:45am, thats just the getting up part. I left the house before 6:30am though as I had to meet up with Cara, a fellow rider, at 7:15am. She proceededs to inform me by the way that she had just woken up ten mintues before. Needless to say I wasn't impressed! :) Simple route for this is a straight shot up 880!

Next up a trip to Hayward to pick up yet another rider, Luis. From there the three of us journeyed over to Plesant Hill. I couldn't tell you the exact route for this one but it wasn't plesant due to the cold weather. In Plesant Hill we met up at a Peetes Coffee. There we met several other riders, Steve (the leader), Kendal, Dorthy, and Russ. So that is a total of 8 riders to start off with.

Had coffee and then we are off on the first true leg of our journey! The gas station!! Haha! Had ya going huh!? Steve, our FANTASTIC lead provided us with break downs of every road along with a printed map! I will try and scan that in but I am not sure when so please, please, please don't hold your breath!

After the morning dosage for our trusty machines we really headed off!

Warning there are a lot of roads so this list is VERY LONG!  The distance covers about 50 miles.  So to make life easier for my weary brain and body I am going to list the main ones.

Starting out on Crescent Dr we made our way to Hookston Rd.

To Treat Rd to Cowell Road, to Ygnacio to Concord blvd. Took that until it changed to Oakhurst to Marsh Creek to Deer Valley.

From there we slabbed it on Highway 4 for a little bit. Crossed this HUGE bridge. Its not that it was long as it was tall! Folks I promise you I can do the grades now having done this bridge! It was great fun. From there though we headed to Rio Vista.

At Rio Vista we found some Pashnitters (www.pashnit.com) who were just waiting around, for us! :) Lots more people to ride with! Even one gentleman with his son! Now I don't know any of their names, SORRY! I normally am pretty good with that but the only one I remember is Syndney because she is riding a beautiful blue Alren Ness inspired Victory! It was nice seeing that one come up behind me!

The roads we just took were all fantastic! They weren't to technical and though the front of the group was a ways up from me and Russ, we took up the rear gaurd, they were very patient. The roads on this bit were a bit bumpy but nothing that my Tyke couldn't handle! The sun started coming out too which really helped out my poor fingertips!

Moving on! As that is only the first part, we will call it Breakfast! On to Lunch! Lunch will be in the outskirts of Sacramento, BFE really but you can see the Sac Water tower from our lunch spot!

So we departed Rio Vista and headed back the way we came, just a little bit, to play on those Levee roads. Those are some fantastic little spots you Sac folks have out there! Some were a bit gravel filled but what does one expect on the water? I had a blast! Anyway!

So we went to Brannan Isal Rd to Twitchell Island then back to Brannan (kinda did this loopy thing). Headed from there to Terminous road and then out to the Ryer Island Ferry! Amazingly enough this was my first time on a Ferry and certainly my first time with Tyke! It was sooo weird to be sitting on Tyke and moving but she's not on!! After the Ferry we headed to Walnut Grove, then to Dixon, we hit Clarksburg, then Freeport Bridge. From there we went to Lunch at a close by strip mall. Approximate miles for this leg 52 miles.

After lunch we headed out. We ended back at the Rio Vista Chevron Station were the ride technically started. Now i don't know the route for this one because I didn't get a sheet from Steve, not sure if he had one for this route. But for any you out that way we did take another Ferry that moved via a chain and took the Ryer Island Ferry back again. So that might give you an indication of what ways we went but I wasn't paying attention to street signs.

That ride was one of the best ones I have been on! A lot of great roads, good company, and certainly a sore seat!

Some of us, that needed to get back to the bay area, slabbed it all the way! That was the toughest part ever but the journey before made it well worth it! We hopped on 4, went back over that huge bridge, hit 680. People broke off as their turn outs came. Some of us that needed to go further took 580 to 238 to 880. Then some of us, me, continued on home taking 280 the rest of the way. I did stop for dinner with a friend though so I didn't get home until 7:10 pm when I drew a bath and just sat and did nothing!!

:)

Start of Odometer - 1,500 (see previous girl ride)

End Odo - 1,845

Total ride for me - 345 miles. My longest ever!
