( I had this almost finished when the click of one button sent me to a new page which erased everything I had done! So this is going to be a bit more brief than before.) It was time for me to meet up with the fabulous people from Dangerous Curves. I cannot say enough about them and their wonderful president! They have helped me out so much in being me and learning about Tyke. So meeting up again was at a Starbucks, because everyone can find those places, in Los Altos. I didn’t get any pictures there. The plan for the time being was to meet some more folks on the other side of the Golden Gate Bridge and head out from there. It was straight slab from Los Altos to San Francisco. This was the first time I had gone into the city on Tyke so it was kind of interesting. We didn’t do anything spiffy and stayed together as a group, harder said than done actually given the traffic. Perhaps I should back up a moment and state that it is a fine blistery California morning. Those of you with cooler weather this would probably be your normal summer weather but for this CA chicka it was cold riding down the freeway. As we hit the city though there was a bit of fog that seemed to spread in tendrils down the streets… Well not THAT foggy but you get the general idea. Now being our first time into the city it was also our first time on The Bridge. Granted I have been a passenger in a car going across the Golden Gate but still that was no comparison to doing it on a motorcycle. Though perhaps a convertible of some form would give the similar effect but still not the same. So crossing the bridge during the day with no fog would be an awesome sight but crossing it, mid morning (about 10am), with fog was just fantastic! I really wish I had my camera out now! Watching the fog roll in front of me exposing those large orange (supposed to be gold) towers!! It was just amazing! No words could do this justice and even a picture I think wouldn’t help! I will admit that I was a bit afraid as it was foggy, a bit breezy, and certainly chilly but still that was one of the best rides of my life. It is an experience I would wish any of you to take if you have the chance! We made it safely to the vista point on the other side of the bridge and stopped to meet up with the rest, rest, and take a few photos. So here is what I got- (There were a lot of people there given the day and time so there is always someone blocking my shot and unfortunately the traffic on the bridge was not going to stop for me so I did the best I could) The area inside the bay just before the bridge. One more of the bridge Our fearless leader Tyler! She is the best, DC’s President and my Motorcycle Mom! Always prepared for Sunny’s misguided attempts at knowing everything! We headed out from the Vista Point across, or rather under the freeway, to the other side to patrol that area over there. This portion I happened to have my precious camera out still. Some random building along the way The fog The road Another random building Going through a tunnel These are a few shots from riding. The adventurous rider Great signs The adventurous bike Posing at the side of the road, picture by Tyler Lunch Time! I am totally lost at this point never having been on this side of the bay. We are by Tomalas Bay Some folks were more adventuresome than I and tried these – This place was literally right on the water, hanging over the bay While resting after lunch I looked over the side and saw these… To bad I didn’t have any peanut butter! PSsst look hard at the above two pictures for there are Jellies!! Yep little Jellyfish! Chilling on Tony’s Deck And off again we went! Now our adventure turned us a little south heading for Mount Tam. Never been there either so, lets see what is in store for us now! Some bike shots (and not just of Tyke) Though I couldn’t resist! Some view from Mount Tam, this is a must stop if you visit the area! I climbed up on top of this rock and yelled at Tyler as she walked below me.. These are some of the images Tyler took of me while on the same rock. I see you Down the mountain we went. It was time to head back as the hours were getting late. So that meant… back to the city! I am, again, not sure what roads we took but they were great. We entered into another tunnel and as we were coming out of said tunnel this is what I saw… So we waited through traffic to get back onto the bridge. Once there the traffic seemed to lighten up a bit Tyler showing us how to properly stretch our legs… Some more shots on the bridge I like this one cause if you look in my mirror you not only see the rest of the group but the towers of the bridge Me We stopped at the reservoir just off of Highway 92 and there we stretched our legs then left for home… No ODO shot because by time I got home I had to pee so bad I quickly jumped off Tyke and ran inside. I do know due to service records that Tyke has now passed 6,700 miles as of 10/1/07.
