Well Tyke and I started the day off with every intent of seeking and making new friends. While we did some seeking we found no friends.. Well not persay anyway. Haryley Davidson of Baltimore, yes yes I know I have been playing there a lot but we need a base of operation. Anyway! On to the goods! HD of Baltimore was throwing a free Biker Breakfast and where there is free food there is bound to be friends! So of course Tyke and I needed to make our presence known! We did show up and the pancakes were delicious and the sausages were great! Now I have to admit I have never had lemonaid with these items but it actually wasn't that bad. The band they had playing was good. Played some P.O.D which is a good band. Anyway a longer story short... I was hoping to maybe ease myself into a ride but I found no bites! So... I decided.. Why not! Lets shoot some roads Tyke and I. Get in some alone time. I will admit I hardly ever ever ever go on Solo rides. As a matter of fact this is my first on in MD. I did do the stupid thing and not told anyone my route but I did let someone know I was going for a ride. Stupid I know but all turned out well! So what is the plan then Tyke? You want short and sweet? You want to go for new or familiar? New and medium? Yes that sounds jussst right! To Pretty Boy Dam it is! We took a quick shot up 695 to Jones Fall Expressway... The directions are to follow so I won't give you the play by play on that, save you some reading! Sooo tooting along, Jones Falls Expressway is a very sweet road, not quiet what I am used to of course but still pretty sweet. Clean, nice curves.

To test my camera I tilted it up and pushed...
Now in CA we do have Cemeteries but nothing quiet like I have seen out here. I am not sure how to word this but they rather structured vs being just there...In the Cities, such as San Jose they are all enclosed and there. errr I am not explaining this well. Look:

In CA those would all be fenced in along the borders.. Tyke was feeling particularly photogenic this trip and so she snuck into a lot of photos (hehehe)
An artsy shot.. I do kind of like how the blue flower is surrounded by the orange ones... I think I need to get a "What is this flower?" book

Lonnngg stretches of road. swwweeet!
 Sweeeterrrr!
I would like to take a moment to point out the changing terran throughout this ride. Tyke and I went from forest, to field, to forest, and to actual farm area, to town, to forest, to field.. You get the idea right? It is kind of interesting as you can do all of this in the span of five miles or less.
A tractor shot as I passed

Tyke! Get out of the picture!
 Really... Photohog!
 Did I mention.... SWEET!
Alright now some analysis of the roads... Jones Falls, Falls road, and Beckleysville road are AWESOME! Beckleysville has this nice sweet curve that if you round it just right and twist the throttle it... Mmmm... Oh! Sorry! Right the roads! Most of the roads I was on were sweet not Goatish (pot holes). They were clean and I got greeted by many people albiet no Motorcycles. I was told these roads were fairly popular so my deduction on that could be wrong. Either way I recomend this route! Okay back to the fun stuffs! We have arrived at the Resivoir!
 Tykkkke!

A nice artsy shot (or I think so)
Since Tyke by this point is feeling very photohogish so I decide that perhaps Tyke need be the next Kawasaki driveway (hah!) model!

The difference on the above two is just angles and I kind of like the second one a lot better. What do you think? A picture of the landscape without Tyke's big nose!
Ooooh we are sooo not done! We loop around and continue on! Another Barn but this one is surrounded by wheat

Quick! Someone call "This Old House" because this house is in some quick need of some help!
Tyke agreed even though she snuck into the picture... Coming around a corner I saw this and had to pause..
And then the photo safari began! I spent quiet a lot of time in this area.

I was starting to feel jealous of Tyke being in all the photos so I decided to try out the timer function This first one didn't turn out to great but I still like it even though my camera focused on something other than us..
Lets try this with out gear and a closer zoom... Now do you know how hard it is to zoom in when your head is inches from cement? Well it wasn't fun but I like the results
 Back to the landscape!

About the dam

At this point my Camera started arguing with me. Apparently it thought the battery was dying. ::frown:: Well I didn't run out of batteries until after I got home but I didn't take to much more after. Have no fear! I have since bought another back up battery and it is charged ready and waiting for the next adventure! We took off from the dam and worked our way along and I saw another photo op for tyke and I
Now when you roll up on a sign like this...
You have a choice. Go where the arrow tells you orrrr ride on! Tyke and I choose to Ride on! Riding on took us into the upper part of York Road where festivites were already brewing for the coming holiday..
A shiloh on my way back to Route 40
And that was it for the pictures. Once you get onto route fourty it is like you have seen it all before! Observations after it is all said and done... I love riding in groups. Do not get me wrong. I love the companionship, the friendships, the banter, all of that. There is just something about going on a Solo ride and stopping when ever you want, taking how ever long, taking as many pictures as you want and not having the pressure of other riders wanting to get a move on. I know I know. A lot of people understand my passions but I still feel that weight of holding up others. So it was kind of nice to be able to say hey! That lookes like a good shot! And pull over to take that picture. I have selected what I feel is the best of my photos from that day the rest are in my photobucket account. http://s147.photobucket.com/albums/r290/BlueLilTyke/08-06-29%20Pretty%20Boy%20Dam/
If you want a further detailed map of my route feel free to send me a message and I will be happy to provide you with it. This is the route of travel per the Zumo
Sorry no Odo picture I wanted to be sure I could upload my photos in the end.
