I had to leave my say, and I did. Cheers for posting the link Shane. Trouble is, I think the a-hole might actually have been trying to strike a nerve. He sure did. Sadly, I don't think it will make a difference in his strange mind- but... maybe, just maybe, those reading the comments will be more sympathetic and understanding towards veterans and bikers causes, and the whole thing will backfire. Peace.

In May of 2008, Keillor wrote a controversial article entitled "The Roar of Hollow Patriotism", criticizing the "Rolling Thunder" parade in Washington D.C. on Memorial Day.[30] The “Rolling Thunder” parade is an event that honors and commemorates all United States veterans, and is sponsored by Rolling Thunder, Inc. - a class 501 C-4 non-profit organization that participates in veterans charities and legislation lobbying for military veterans and personnel.[31] The article depicts the biker subculture with negative imagery. He describes the participating bikers as "fat men with ponytails on Harleys" and further depicts them as "grown men playing soldier, making a great hullaballoo without exposing themselves to danger, other than getting drunk and falling off a bike".[32] The article has created an uproar and strong response within the biker community.

(The above is from Wikipedia....)  The man is a dyed in the wool liberal democrat.  What else could you expect from such a person?  To his credit, he has been a prolific writer for quite a number of years, as well as a radio host since the late 60's.  Like many liberals his age, he avoided military service by way of "timing".  That is, he was born August 1942, when he was 10 years old the Korean War was raging, and by the time he was in college, the USA was just getting started good in Vietnam.  He fathered his first kid around that time in the first of his 3 marriages, and by the time he would have been drafted, he was too old.  So this guy has never had to worry about going to war, nor has he ever given a second thought to serving his country.  He's your typical liberal media type who has never done anything but write junk about how we all should just sit around a campfire and sing Kumbaya with our enemies.  It's a culture of the acid popping old hippie types still out there thinking there's still hope for the "utopian" world they all dreamed about on so many of their "trips".  He's got his opinion, and we have ours. And I, like you Shane, happen to think he's a tool....a dull one.

Thanks for the link Shane...
I used to like to listen to Prairie Home Companion.  It reminded me of the countless renditions I have seen and heard of when the entire family would gather by the radio for the evening entertainment.  I would get a warm and fuzzy feeling from the mental pictures I would receive in my mind's eye.
I'm not sure I could sit and listen to it anymore with same warm feelings I used to...I had no idea the man was such an educated idiot.
