Alright check out the weather channel,no rain, going to be hot.time to ride.600 miles to Rapid City ok no scenic rts. just rt 90 and the hwy. man it is F***n cold again,Put on some rain gear(you would think by now I would have bought a hoodie or something warm)but still not enough it is cold ridin.Stopped in @ Bergdale hd where they had a huge sale, got me a hd hoodie for 20 bucks and off we go.Oh yeah warmth.an hour goes by and the heat kicks in and we are sweatin,ok time for a costume change, back on the road. Lots of corn, soy and wind farms ,yes  wind farms with the big ass propellers, which was a good place cause it was very flat and windy.Alrightty out of Minnesota and into S.Dakota but we still have a ways to go and what else, it starts to rain again but we don't care we have about 6 hs left to rapd city whats alittle more rain,We have gotten pretty good at changing into the gear by now.We make it into Sioux Falls hd,meet a couple there who are retired and took a month just to go riding thru the USA.not to rush the years but I can't wait to do shit like that.Stayed for the free lunch and the skies cleared looked like a perfect time to head back out.A funny thing we started noticing was a lot of bikes heading east away from the rally.I was confused it's the middle of the rally and people are leaving hhmmm.People told me about this last part of our journey about how it would be boring nothing to look at and hard.THEY WERE RIGHT.Oh my God nothing but a 2 lane hey that you could see just go & go & Go it looked like it would never end,no towns ,no farms ,no life just the cars and trucks that would fly by.Speed limit is 75 we were doing 75-80 and the cagers were flying by us. I was seeing mirages, jean was falling asleep it was madness. At one of our gas stops we meet a couple who were on their way back and asked why so early they were leaving, seems this rally is pack 1st weekend  and people head home before the second, which is opposite for myrtle and laconia.they told us about the rally and things to see and even gave us their bands for MT/Rushmore and Custer park, very nice of them.Back on the road and it was really hot now,we hit some traffic ,A tractor trailer had hit  a road crew truck and it wasn't a pretty site.THe wind was hard, the hardest I've every been in.It was comin from the north I had the bike leaning so hard to the right to try to keep her from going into the left lane, that when we went over a hwy or bridge the bike would shoot like a rocket over to the right side.We knew were getting close when the cows and corn fields were comming back. Now we see are 1st Buffalo sighting. Also there was another time change which was nice. And we finnally pull into Rapid City and our hotel around 8:30(10:30 ny time).Unload our stuff, check in ,bite to eat and crash WE HAD MADE IT.
