Blog Entry: I  took my first road trip of 2008 on my softail 2001.left here on june 20th and headed east out of northern Indiana headed to Wheeling WV on US 70.  Got to Wheeling and had to stop and bet on the dogs..Didnt win but had some fun and a nice 2 hour rest there..Then it was north into Pa.and into York.Yes had to go see the harely plant there..I enjoyed that..very interesting.The it was nroth  again to a little town called Shamokin..Stayed with some old friends there and met a few new friends as well.Next day we headed north again to US 80 west to Middlesex Pa where we got caught in a very heavy down pour..Stayed the night and  hit the road the next day to Ohio and US 77 south to Huntington WV.Again met up with some friends there ..We had a short night on the town..What a great place to party..Next day it was off to mammoth cave in Ky.We took US 64 across Ky.Very pretty ....After we left the caves headed to Murray Ky.Then north back to Indiana and a long drive home...Met a lot of very nice people from all walks of life and even met a couple from Ireland at the harley plant...We was on the road for 6  1/2 day and 2400 miles with no problems.My friend was on a Yamaha 650 and stayed right up with me..She was a trooper..he first big road trip ever.We have been friends for 40 yrs and are planning a 3000 miles trip next summer to KC and the harley plant there  then north to canada and over to the falls in New York.Happy Riding all.Be safe ..PS almost forgot..we road with a group on bikes in Ky for a short time there was about 75 bikes in all.That was so cool they saw us and let us ride with them for about 20 miles till we had to turn off..Thanks to them if any of then see this.
