Blog Entry: Took it on the highway ---what a difference! That bike is rock steady at 100mph. the shadow sucked on the highway. I felt like I was always on the verge of tipping over. It was not solid on the road. This bike… Took it on Town Mountain Rd. too. OMG it was a dream. I took turns at speed –no slipping , no scrapping, just steady fun. I finally can ride roads again, not worry about grounding out. I still miss the Nighthawk, but now at least I can enjoy riding again.I noticed that I was going through more gas than I thought I should, so I pulled the air filter, it was clean. Then I pulled the spark plugs. The one in back is fouled. Don’t know what to do about that. Maybe I will put a new plug in and see what that does.           Lauren asked me if I was going to change my loyalties from Honda to Harley now. Wow. What a question. The implications behind are really profound. I told her that I would always like Honda, but that Harley is good too. “But you have always had Honda.”“Yes but the last one was not good. We had to go to the shop too many times. Remember?” I went on to try and explain that just because we had a Harley did not mean that I hated Honda. Frankly, I think I did the right thing, this bike seems to be what I want. I never really liked the Shadow and felt stuck with it.
