Title: Aug. 9th Meet & Greet
Category: Eager to ride
Blog Entry: I'm entering this a little late but better late than never. Aug. 9th. saturday morning rolled out at about 6:45 AM to head for Ocala to meet with Rick&Kimber, Knukledragger&Trinity and PatchyBrown and her husband Jim. We met at Dennys and had a great breakfast and was ready to ride out by 8:00 AM heading to our next stop off I-75 the Brooksville exit. Made our stop I toped of my tank, we waited for any riders that may show. No one showed so it was back on the road heading to Palmetto to Peggy's Coral for our first Meeet & Greet. It was a nice ride down about 189 miles for me and we only got a little wet on I-75. Bout the time we got dried out we made or turn off on 275 north to catch US 41 south. I looked over at a wall of blackness and was hoping the exit was not far off. No sooner than we got on 275 we seen signs for 41 alright we are going to make it. We hit $1 and I was not sure if we were to go south or north so we pulled into a station to check. We all topped off our tanks and when we hit the road we were looking at a wall of water. I'm talking gulley washer could not see in front of me but we pushed on. I'm guessing about 2 miles and the rain slacked a little and there was Peggys and we were near drowned. Soon after the (not so soon) the southern riders showed up from Ft. Myers. Somewhere inbetween our Orlando BW friends showed up. We had a great time ShovelKKR called HarleyBrat and I got to talk to her which was awesome. We did a little bar hop and decided it was time to depart. I was heading to Ft. Myers with my brother and tigger. Put on another 91 miles or so to get to Ft. Myers and spent a couple days down there riding with my Bro. Tue. morning it was time to ride the 250 miles back to Trenton. It was agreat ride and the longest on my new build so I got to see what she was made of. She held together good with the exception of a regulator bracket that let loose when we turned to head for my Bro's house. My bad I made a flimsey aluminum bracket that could not take it. All is better now and I figured I put on 700 to 800 miles on that little ride hope to do it again real soon. Thanks to all who could make it was great!!
