Well amid the estimates of 20,000 bikes, I didn't see you fogrocker. I went to the Combat Veterans booth and Gascan had taken off to ride around with his dog, so I missed him. There were so many people walking around, I only saw Fritznatz and that's because I phoned him once I got there to see where to meet. Magister and debsmiling were great company all day, both jokesters so we kept the laughing up. If I ever go again, I'm going to be up there by 10am and out of there by noon... screw this riding in first or second gear. Seems like we spent a lot of time doing that, even on I-5. Finally got home around 7pm.

 

And the Crown Royal cover... that's a lot of booze!

I'm back djing, feeling like I can sit for a few hours... and missing my music.  So if you're around Friday night, 10pm Eastern until 1am, it's my blues night.  (I've been laying around enough to cough up some new music).

As far as riding, doesn't look like its anytime too soon.  The Dr told me yesterday I'm off work for 5 more weeks; I tried driving my car today and damn, it hurt.  I'll definately plan on being fine by the end of September for the infamous Oyster Run!

I won't be online much the next couple days,  I'm having surgery on Wednesday and have stuff to take care of.  I'm not sure on the recovery time, but I wish everyone a good weekend next, and I'll be back when I can.

It was another wonderful sunny weekend here in Washington. Yesterday we took my grandson to the McChord AFB Airshow. There were vintage fighters, as well as the Thunderbirds performing. I had seen them practice over my house during the week, as I only live about 2 miles from base, and then Friday I rode over to their flightpath to land, hoping to 'feel' em until a cop chased me away, bah! FAA rules! So I moved to the fenced area on the side of the field and just sat and watched as they would fly out of nowhere overhead, so close you could see them inside. Then the sound would follow. So at the show yesterday, we had a blast, and he's now in love with jets.

Today I rode up to Seattle to see old friends at the Seattle Seafair Pow-Wow. I worked for 12 years at a native health care facility as Systems Administrator, and once a year at this pow-wow I can see a few of them. Older, grayer, and big happy smiles. It was a gorgeous ride, along the waterfront and looking across the Sound at the Olympics, and heading South back home and having Mt. Rainier in view. And riding alone. I got so hot up there that I couldn't wait to hop back on and head home. Only to have the Thunderbirds flying overhead as I took my exit off I-5. I wonder if anyone looked at me funny as I whooped and hollered with my fist in the air as they flew over my head while I was riding? Who gives a crap.

Fast approaching, and looking forward to it if this weather contunues. 

A Bikerworlds meet is decided for 4:30 Saturday at The Pirate's Cove Tavern, and then then perhaps again at 8pm. If you want my cell, let me know so you can reach me.

A bunch of us are riding down together Friday after work, around 4pm. So give me a call for either night.   We're all staying at The Sands so look for the parties on the beach side.

Today was a great day! I met Steven for breakfast, it was so good to see him after so long... he's looking great! Nice and tan, been riding alot. After we ate, we headed to Destination Harley, sponsor for the ride. After the speeches, prayer, etc... we saddled up. The crowd was down from last year when we went... I remember there being several more parking lots full of bikes, and in the end, I heard about 600 showed up.

Anyway, we all headed onto the freeway, the line pretty much staying together... slowing, going, catching up.. such is riding in an event that size. Destination did a great job of having the highway dept and state patrol out to block roads. We got to Ft. Lewis, turned around and headed back. By then I could feel how hot it had gotten to be, and could feel my face burned. (Hawaiian and Indian, burning??? Go figure.. lol. Musta been Daddy's white half that burned!)

We got back to Destination where they had a band, bbq, and gave a bike away to a soldier who's home for two weeks from Iraq. It was nice.

Best part was the folks I ran into. Besides Steven and me, I met Jackson from here, fritznatz4 rode down with CMVA and I saw a few of them I'd met before in Anacortes, and fogrocker, mebstacie and her parents, and a friend Jim, who just got back from a 14 day, 4700+ mile trip. And last but not least, lil_tony, who's heading to Iraq this Fall with his unit... we spoke briefly about him taking Larry the Bikerworlds bear! Tony said it would be a kick to see Larry peeking out the turret of a hummer.

Hot, hot day, wonderful friends and now I think I'll take a nap.
