I woke up this morning and decided to attend the Lakewood PD Motorcycle Safety Rally and Ride. I'd gotten an email from PGR, and thought it's a good time to meet them, as I'd joined last week.

I left home by 7:30, arrived and was so warmly greeted by the members... no organized group I've ever ridden with were so welcoming. There was a band playing as we sat around waiting for the departure time, as well as drawings and a coned course you could test your skills on. (cagey decided not to do it.)

By the time everyone was registered there was well over 100 bikes. It was led by the Lakewood PD, and we all rode together through Tacoma, along the tideflats toward Des Moines. We hopped on the freeway, went through Black Diamond, Buckley and back on #167 to the Lakewood Fest. I cut out at my exit though so I could come home and work on my playlist to dj with tonight. Warm, humid, and I wasn't home more than 5 minutes and I was in the shower

It was an impressive sight, great road captains and the Lakewood PD did an awesome job of planning the roads.. some little country roads I'd never been on before. One guy had an awesome Indian; I'll post the pics on my page.

My first mission with PGR is next Friday I know it'll be an experience I won't forget.

Oh, and I scraped my crash bar turning a corner

Sounds like we both had positive police experiences today Cagey. What are the odds of that happening again? Congrads on the PGR. Its a good thing your doing.

Good on 'ya for scrapin' that crash bar- that's how they're supposed to be! Just be careful- when that happens it's time to let up on speed, gently, so you can let the bike come up just a bit. If you go any lower in the curve the crash bar will launch you. It takes good instincts, reflexes, and common sense. Sounds to me like Our Highness is coming along nicely! Respect.
