My wife and I own 2 motorcycles, a 1992 Harley Heritage Softail (heavily customized) and a 99 Honda Shadow ACE. We ride just about everywhere. I ride to work most of the time and we take several road trips throughout the year.

My primary ride is a 1992 HD Heritage Softail that I got new back in 1992. Since then it has under gone a lot of changes - mostly just paint and pipes until last year when we hit 180,000 miles on her it was time for a bit of a change. Nothing was really wrong but a lot of little things were going on with the motor and drivetrain but you know 180,000 hard miles will do that.

I stripped her down to nothing, replaced the motor with an S&S 96", put a RevTech 6 Speed tranny in her and changed the primary to a 3" BDL Open Primary. Completely rewired the bike removing all the unecessary crap (turn signals, spot lights, etc), she also got the 20" chubby apes, a new set of 2 1/4" drag pipes, replaced the horseshoe oil tank with a cool looking round one, and a few other odds and ends here and there.

Did about 95% of the work myself and learned a lot in the process. Got her just like I want her now. Probably won't change anything for a day or 2. (They are never finished).

My wifes bike is a 99 Honda Shadow ACE that I got her as an engagement present.

Put a smaller sproket on the rear to give it a little more top end. Added a set of 16" Apes, chrome controls, new mirrors, and a tear drop air cleaner. First time I had ever rebuilt a carb so that was a pretty good learning experience. Still needs paint but it is running right.
