Press Release
DATE: 25 Jul 2008, 9:41 am / MOOD: Happy

Besides the uncrowded roads & spectacular scenery of the Pacific Northwest , bikers at the Shasta Salute to America Motorcycle Rally will enjoy hanging out & listening to high octane music that is a reflection of our lifestyle. Check out our entertainment lineup on the Rally’s website (www.shastasalutetoamerica.com). What is so amazing about the musical menu for our event is there is biker-cool music for every taste. From the unique national act entertainment presented four nights straight at the “EzJ Concert Field,” to each band scheduled in the 11k square foot air-conditioned “Wings2Fly Saloon,” Shasta Salute to America Motorcycle Rally patrons will be in for a musical feast.

At the “EzJ Concert Field,” the nightly concerts will begin every night at 7:30pm. There will be a huge 30’ X 40’ stage with 2, 16’ X 16’ speaker wings & 2 big screens & an awesome light show so bikers can see the artists up close & personal. Parr Sound is bringing enough horsepower to blow your hair back! The grandstands hold 2000, but if patrons want to be closer to the artists, just bring your lawn chairs & set up festival seating style on the flat grass field in front of the stage. Seating is “first come, first serve.” Located on the north side of the grandstands along the perimeter will be a bar where bikers can grab a frozen margarita, a cold brew or a wine cooler. Spotless restrooms with disabled access are located close by.

Before taking your seats for the nightly concerts, grab a delicious dinner at the “Tequila Rose Café” - just outside the south entry to the “Wings2Fly Saloon” (behind the grandstands). 10 Bucks gets ‘ya a 3 course meal with a drink & dessert. Dinner will be served every night from this location from 4:15pm to 7:15pm & the price will always be 10 Bucks! Thursday night is Mexican food. Friday night is Tri-Tip. Saturday night is Stuffed Baked Taters. Sunday night is spaghetti. We also have a host of other terrific food vendors to ensure there’s something for everyone & plenty of it!

Get ready to get psychedelic ‘cause Friday night at the Shasta Rally is 60s night. Who better to headline this wild & cool theme night then the Grass Roots with original lead singer Rob Grill? GR has sold over 20 million records. You won’t have to “Wait A Million Years” to hear these masters of the 60s sound! They will be performing their hits so Shasta Rally bikers can take a step back to a time when things in America were changing & the youth of this country were trying to discover a new way to live. Break out your leather fringe, your mini skirts, and bell bottom jeans & get ready to groove & enjoy your freedom.

South Bay Biker Productions is honored to present Ms. Heidi Newfield as our headliner for the Shasta Rally’s patriotic tribute on Saturday night. Heidi left highly successful CMA award winning “Trick Pony” a year & a half ago to pursue her dream of a solo career. “What Am I Waiting For?” is Heidi’s much anticipated new album which will be released on August 5th. This amazing compilation of original songs was produced with Tony Brown, the top record producer in Nashville (Brooks & Dunn, Wynona, Reba, etc.). When Shasta Rally bikers hear Heidi’s new direction, which will include her awesome hit single, “Johnny & June,” mixed in with some of Heidi’s all time rowdy hits like “Pour Me,” the house will be rockin. Heidi’s performance coupled with the Shasta Rally’s patriotic guest speaker, SSG Liz Cowie, co-founder of Operation Gratitude, will make memories that will last Shasta Rally bikers a lifetime.

On Sunday night, South Bay Biker Productions will present James Intveld’s rockabilly music show at 9:30pm. James is one of the original members of the Sinners & a keeper of the history of where great rock ‘n roll dance music comes from. When this handsome unpretentious entertainer & hard core biker steps on stage, everyone is in for great music & big smiles. James was one of the stars of the recent smash independent film, “Choppertown.” His music is woven through this documentary film. The rest of the Sinner crew, including Choppertown star bike builder, Rico Fodrey, is making the pilgrimage from Southern California to Tulelake to support James & our event – thanks to the Sinners for attending & representing. South Bay Biker is honored to have ‘ya on board.

South Bay Biker Productions is excited & honored to have the privilege of presenting our pal Charlie Brechtel & his Band on Saturday night at 7:30pm. Charlie’s original music is a history & a celebration of our culture & the personalities who are its foundation. The joy & artistry this true biker / guitar man & his tight band bring to their performances is amazing. Charlie’s music is a gift to the biker community. There’s a good reason Charlie’s band is the House Band at the Buffalo Chip in Sturgis. South Bay Biker strongly agrees with the California Bureau Chief for Thunder Press, LoDown Dan Parker, who describes Charlie Brechtel as a “living legend.” Besides opening for Heidi on Saturday night, Charlie & his band will be the final act in the “Wings2Fly Saloon” on Sunday night! (Don’t miss it!)

The Shasta Rally’s House Band is “National Dust.” We believe these talented men have exactly what it takes to make it to the top in the biker music world. Their music is blue collar & reflects what the biker lifestyle & being on the road is about. Best selling author of “The Original Wild Ones,” Bill Hayes heard ‘Dust & said, “Their music needs to be played loud & often.” “Evil Eric” Dust’s original song, “Ain’t No Sin to Ride” is the best biker song since “Born to Be Wild.” When you hear National Dust, we’re pretty sure they’ll become one of your “house bands,” too.

The freedom Shasta Rally bikers enjoy will be like what takes place in Sturgis inside the large venues like Buffalo Chip, Glencoe & the Broken Spoke. Along with our unique national acts, South Bay Biker Productions booked the three best tribute bands in the business: Skynnyn Lynnrd / Lynnyrd Skynnrd (Thursday night @ 9:40pm,) Wild Child / Doors (Friday 60’s night @ 7:40pm & ThundHerStruck /ACDC (Sunday night @ 7:30pm).

The Shasta Salute to America Motorcycle Rally won’t be a corporate bike show or biker boooo-teeeeek. Four day passes are available on line or by phone (877-688-4229), but if ya can’t stay all four days, 24 hours passes are also available. ALL Shasta Rally patrons are encouraged to stake out a camp spot when arriving at the venue & stay all night. Bring your tents & sleeping bags – the venue is like a golf course & we don’t want our friends drinking & driving. This is a real biker rally - like it used to be & will be again in 2008 & for years to come.

Thanks to our troops for keeping America free & thanks to the biker community for your support! See ya in a few weeks for the good times.

Your hosts & friends,

EzJ & Wings2Fly, South Bay Biker Productions

good advice
DATE: 22 May 2008, 8:53 am / MOOD: Other

Dear Walter:

I hope you can help me here. The other day I set off for work leaving my husband in the house watching the TV as usual. I hadn't gone more than a mile down the road when my engine conked out and the car shuddered to a halt. I walked back home to get my husband's help. When I got home I couldn't believe my eyes. He was in the bedroom with a neighbor lady making mad passionate love to her. I am 32, my husband is 34 and we have been married for twelve years.  When I confronted him, he broke down and admitted that he'd been having an affair for the past six months.
I told him to stop or I would  leave him. He was let go from his job six months ago and he says he has been feeling increasingly depressed and worthless. I love him very much, but ever since I gave him the ultimatum he has become increasingly distant. I don't feel I can get through to him anymore.
Can you please  help?
Sincerely,
Sheila Usak

Dear  Sheila:
A car  stalling after being driven a short distance can be caused by a variety of  faults with the engine. Start by checking that there is no debris in the  fuel line. If it is clear, check the jubilee clips holding the vacuum pipes  onto the inlet manifold. If none of these approaches solves the problem, it  could be that the fuel pump itself is faulty, causing low delivery pressure  to the carburetor float chamber.
I hope this  helps.

Walter
