DATE: 03 Aug 2008, 5:44 pm / MOOD: Happy
Well today I took a very nice ride with a bunch great group of friends. Some of the usual friends showed up, some old friends I have not seen in a while, and I met a couple of new riders that I hope to ride with again in the future. We started out riding route 129 out through Cleveland and then headed into North Caroline. From there we headed east and ended up in Tennessee. From there we road home by way of routes, 52 and 53. In all we road 247 miles today, or at least that was what I road from door to door. Also had a great surprise for this ride. My daughter Kendra decided to come out with us. It's been a long time since she has taken a long ride with me. She had a great time and kept talking about the sights. The open fields, the hills, the trees, the houses in the mountain. What better way to put a big smile on my face than to spend a wonderful day with my daughter and some great riding friends. Please check out the pictures I posted of the ride and comment them. Hope everyone else had a wonderful weekend as well. Joe

353 Miles - WOW

| 353 Miles - WOW | Hey Everyone, Just wanted to post about a nice ride I had this weekend with my buddy Ken. We decided to get together and just ride to no where. The only goal was to get to South Carolina so we could go lidless. We had no clue as to where we were going or where we might stop, it was all about the ride. We ended up on some very kewl twisty roads in South Caroline and seen we found our way into North Carolina. Found this great route 267 I believe it was. Very twisty with trees lining the entire route. I loved it. Well it was a great ride to no where special with a good friend to enjoy the road and sun with. 353 miles later I was back home and resting for work on Monday.
Hope everyone else had a great enjoyable weekend as well.

Sunday May 5-2007
DATE: 07 May 2008, 11:25 am / MOOD: Happy
Well Sunday I got together with some great riding friends (had not been riding with them in a while due to my work schedule) and we met for breakfast before riding. Actually Donna brought along a book that marked good rides in the SE area. We were talking about who should lead the ride and I jumped in and said "We don't need that book. I'll lead the ride. I have no clue where were going, but will have fun". Low and behold, my favorite type of ride. A ride to Nowhere special. These are rides where you just go until you see a road that looks interesting and decide to take it. Then another, and another. At the end of the day you try and figure out where the heck you are and how to make it home. To make a long story short, we were all having such a great time riding and exploring new roads that we lost total track of time. We started out in GA, ended up somewhere in SC, than came back through the mountains and the scenic town of Helen GA and onward to home. No location, no time line, just an objective to ride and ride and ride. What a great day it was.

Traveling for Work
DATE: 22 Jan 2008, 8:44 pm / MOOD: Content
Well I'm out traveling for work and presently in the Chicago area. Boy is it very chilly here. I thought I moved to GA to get away from this cold, and now I'm traveling into it for buisness...LOL Well you have to do what you have to do when work calls. The down fall here is that you can't even walk and check out the city at night becuase its just to dam cold out. Well next week I get to visit CA and chec out some warmer weather areas. I'll be hitting Rancho Cordova, San Mateo, and Newport Beach. At least on that trip I should be able to go for a nice walk at night and enjoy some of the sites in the city.

Thanksgiving
DATE: 22 Nov 2007, 7:06 pm / MOOD: Happy
Hey everyone, I hope all of my online friends as a very happy and enjoyable Thanksgiving. I sure did. Today my eldest daughter (Tiffany) had me and my other two daughters over for Thanksgiving dinner. It was really a wonderful time. She made turkey, ham, scalopped potatoes, and lots more. I got to play with my grandaughter and just enjoy some nice relaxing times with family. What a wonderful day it was.
