Yesterday, all_wolf and I had the honor of riding with our American Legion Riders Post 251 and the Patriot Guard, in the escort of fallen hero SSG Tabb.all_wolf has posted a blog about the ride that has gone in great depth of the day (written beautifully, I might add), so I will just let you know how touched I was to see how many people cared so much for SSG Tabb and his family and wanted to show him the love and respect he and his family so deserved. As all_wolf mentioned, the roads were cleared for the procession. I thought that was wonderful. It still seemed strange to be able to run through red lights and I was surprised just about every time the Police when they would race by  me to get to the front so they could stop traffic. I have never ridden on such an empty highway as I did that day. As we were riding, I touched me was all the cars on the opposite side of the roads and highway that were stopped, watching the procession. al_wolf mentioned what we heard on our chatterboxes, which was cool to hear. I could hear they were out of breath from their maneuvers, but I also heard the excitement in their voices when they talked about all of the bikes out on the road. As all_wold stated, SSG Tabb was a dog handler and his dog was there for the service.  There were other Soldiers and their Dogs at the service showing their respect, which touched me. I am glad the Dog was able to be adopted by SSG Tabb’s family. We escorted SSG Tabb, his family and friends to the new National Cemetery near Canton GA.  It is a beautiful place. The service was not by the gravesite, but under a pavilion. Along with the flag line greeting at the funeral home, there was a flag line at the cemetery. During the service at the pavilion, the family was circled by the PGR and Legion Riders with a flag line. It was nice that the Preacher let the family and friends know about the 21 gun salute, so they wouldn’t be surprised. There was not a dry eye in the place as rifle salute was fired and taps played. Quoting all_wolf, “ May SSG Tabb rest in peace, may his family have strength and take comfort in the knowledge he is honored and remembered, and may us as Americans always remember our heroes, for a country who falls to remember their fallen heroes is doomed to be forgotten!”I’ve added pictures I took with my camera phone. Some of them are from all_wolf’s phone.Ride safe, Ride often.Toppcat
